Pics as promised

Don't worry, Zach made sure we knew he was not impressed with taking pictures....I'll narrate for you...

Really, these pictures again...I'm so over it...

I scoff at your attempts to set this stuffed dog by me...if I could evil laugh every time I pick it up and put it in my mouth I would...

Fine, the dog is down but I refuse to smile while the camera is out...

Still not impressed...

Oh you thought I would be happy if you held me...think again...instead I'll look terrified so people wonder about you crazy mama

It always goes this well.  We'll have 12 month pictures of an annoyed looking baby, precious.

6 Months

Finally a 6 month round up!  I really just can't believe it.  I feel like the next 6 months are going to be even faster and I'm trying to stop and soak up the moments.

- He weighs 16lb & oz and is in the 50% for weight and is long which makes him in the 75%.  They didn't give us a percentile for head measurement so I can only assume it is off the charts.

- He is in size 3 diapers.  We ran out of size 2 and had size 3, but they are fitting just fine with no leaks or issues.

- Still in 3-6 month clothes, but getting ready to make the jump to 6-9 month.  Some of the stuff is too small, others are still big...depends on the brand.

- Sleeping all night still thank goodness!  The time change was very good to us.  We lay him down at 7:30pm, usually asleep by 8pm at the latest and sleeps until almost 7am.  This means I don't have to get up at 5am to have one quiet cup of coffee and a shower.  It is amazing.

- He is an eating champ.  He takes 4 bottles a day of Similac Soy, 6-8oz and has rice cereal and fruits and/or veggies twice a day.  He is eating the #1 foods, but got the green light at the doctors for #2 foods and a little bit of water.

- We have a schedule down for now where he takes 3 naps for about 30-60 minutes each.  We're getting closer to cutting down to 2 longer naps a day but the little guy just gets too tired to make it that long yet.

- He is talking more.  I usually wake up to mama through the monitor...which is nice, but when I leave and he yells mama and starts crying it is heart breaking.  He says dada and I swear me and Matt heard a JJ in there (the dog, who he loves best still).

- He is a generally happy boy.  We get lots of giggles and noises.  You can tell his frustrated from his bored or hungry noises now.

- He is sitting pretty good on his own.  He gets a little wobbly still (it's that big head) but for the most part is doing good.

- He still has little to no interest in being on his stomach so he may never crawl at this point.  He does love to stand so no one will be surprised if he walks before he crawls.

- He loves his bouncer.  He gets going like a crazy baby.

- Still loves music and books.  Brown Bear is still a daily read.

- The drooling and chewing have gotten worse.  The doctor said she thinks a tooth will be making an appearance soon.

- He loves, loves, loves being outside.  He especially loves being in the giant baby backpack outside walking around.

And the camera with all his 6 month pictures is in his room and he is sleeping, so I will have to post those later.  Nap time is sacred time sorry folks.  I promise to overcompensate for the lateness and lack of pictures.

Monster

Zach is well behaved for a baby, so he not a monster in that respect....but I think he may be monster huge.  We went out to lunch and saw a woman waiting for a table with her baby in a sling (hey non-parents, this is essentially a baby backpack...that is right, put your kid in, strap it on and go...amazing, but I digress).  We started talking, doing a little mom flirting.  I told her I liked her sling (I really did, it was well designed and looked like it wouldn't break my back and her baby was not screaming) and she said we were genius...she may not have said the word genius, I just inferred...since we bring our bumbo (non-parents, this is a very expensive piece of foam like plastic that your baby sits in which is worth every cent since they can't escape) for Zach to sit in on the table at restaurants so we don't have to hassle with high chairs and what not.  For now this works best.

So the point of this story since I got way off track; her little boy was the same age as Zach and probably half of his size.  Now the doctor keeps telling us he is normal and average.  He was 50% in weight and 75% in height which you would know if I ever do a 6 month stats post.  Zach looked like he could eat this kid.  At one point Zach smiled at him and I briefly wondered if he was debating going after him.

I'm starting to get a complex about our giant child.  Maybe we should find a group of 6 month old babies to hang out with to see if Zach is actually a giant.

Tonight, 6 month post.  For real this time.

Not just a river

Denial is not just a river....it is the McClure's current state of mind. Zach turned 6 months old on Friday and I haven't even started his monthly highlights. We are in denial that our baby is so big already. I say we, but realistically way more me then Matt. We flipped through his first month baby book and I almost cried. I knew there would be inappropriate crying around here but I thought it would be Zach not me.

I'll get on it and do a 6 month highlight this week....probably....

And finally a shout out to my wonderful husband (I recently learned he does read this when he misses us at work...so like once a month...I kid, I kid) for getting up with Zach last night.  We've been sleeping all night for quite some time, but last night was a disaster and he got up at 3:30am just angry at life.  Thank you Matt I don't know what we would do without you!

Big Baby

I'm slowly starting back to work and someone is being a big baby about it....she happens to be 27.  Next week starts full time, all day, everyday and I must admit I'm not adjusting as readily as I thought I would.  I always said I would work after having kids and would never stay home.  I never imagined wanting to stay home, it just wasn't me....the surprise is on me and everyone else who knows me.  I'm going to miss my little guy, but I know it's good for both of us.  I'll stop being a baby about it soon....probably.....just ignore me if you see me throwing a toddler like tantrum, I'm sure it will pass.

How could you not miss this face?!

A little sunshine

This week has been weird with a lot of not so great happenings in our area.  So here is a little sunshine in a dark week.

...for a laugh...I was burping Zach, with a burp cloth in place on my shoulder, but he managed to lean in and spit up down my shirt.  And then later in the week I ran my shopping cart right into the wet floor sign at the grocery store, like hit it hard and totally ran it over....the man behind me laughed out loud....

What are you thinking mommy?  How did you not see the big yellow wet floor sign?

Zach is in love with JJ.  The dog will bark and Zach will start laughing.  JJ is not so in love with Zach.
