I can't wait

Things I cannot wait to say....

- Don't make me pull over
- Because I'm the mom and I said so
- When Zach complains about his chores I'll reply with, 'This is why I had kids, to help me clean'
- Your face is going to freeze like that
- Don't sit that close to the tv
- I love you, in response to his I hate you, your the meanest mom ever
- Don't make me count to 3

...and oh so many more

Not that I am going to need any of these sayings with such and angelic child (I couldn't even type that without laughing)

Totally sweet and innocent

Mother's Day

Why yes I do realize Mother's Day isn't for another month, but we celebrate things early around here.  We're children when it comes to gifts.  We plan ahead which is good, but when said present comes early you get it early.  I'm not sure if we just get excited to give each other gifts, or if we're too lazy to actually wrap gifts for each other.  I got an awesome personalized dish thing....I realize this sounds very stepford wife like, but it really is awesome.  Since we're actually building a house I requested red accents (I am finalizing things like colors and Matt is handling things like septic systems...both important in their own way I keep telling myself).

Another reason for the early Mother's Day celebration is the looming shut down Matt has coming up.  The shut down starts in just under 2 weeks.  This means Matt will be working 6 days a week, 12 hours a day.  This paired with the busy greenhouse season where I'm working everyday will make things interesting around here.

7 Months Old

Wow it seems like I just did a 6 month old post....oh that's right, I did.....delaying the 6 month post did not slow down time like I had hoped.  Here we are at 7 months (and 2 days).

Oh mom and dad make it stop already....

- I'm not sure on the height and weight, no 7 month check up so I have no idea...and I realized I never filled in the right sizes for 6 months because I was going to double check them....it was 16lb 11oz & 27" long.

- Still in size 3 diapers

- Sticking with Similac Soy for his formula, which he takes 4 times a day

- Chubbers loves to eat!  He eats everything.  He still loves rice cereal, which he has twice a day still.  He has fruit in the morning and veggies at night.  He does not like the veggies as much, but really who does.

- He scoots around a little bit, but for the most part it looks like he will never crawl.  He isn't hating his tummy time quite as much....there is hope that he won't be the only 5th grader carried to school by mama.

- He loves to sit up and has excellent control.  He catches himself with his hands instead of face planting now.

- He talks and talks and talks.  Once he has real words we are in trouble....he will be like daddy and always telling stories, or making up stories.

- His comprehension and expressions just keep growing and are fun.  With that he has been obsessed with sticking his tongue out.  He did it a little bit before and blew bubbles and stuff, but all time time it is out.

- He loves kisses.  You'll kiss his cheek and he will just lean into it and smile.  Sometimes now I'll be carrying him and he presses his face against mine for a kiss.

- The swing is out, he can't hold still that long, but the jumper play thing is now king.  He loves the bouncing.

- Favorite book is still Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?  I can still recite it by memory and he always tries to pet the white dog and goldfish.

He is getting so big!

Up to no good

No crawling yet, but at least he doesn't scream bloody murder when he is on his belly anymore....it is the small victories.

Old Bones

Greenhouse season is in full swing and these old bones are getting sore.  Today is the first day I have felt super sore, this signifies the beginning of real season.  Real time....like not just fixing and preparing stuff, but like plants in the greenhouses and in the germ room and being planted everyday.  I'm struggling with finding a home and work balance, but I keep working on it.  I get to see Zach in the morning, but he is asleep by the time I get home at night usually.  I do get to eat lunch with him sometimes, depending on what time I end up eating.  By the time we get it all figured out the crazy greenhouse season will be over.

I don't know what I would do without this guy (the big hairy one) taking such good care of the other one (the little bald/mohawk one)....
